Casualty

Richard Armitage in CasualtyRichard Armitage appeared in one episode of the long-running BBC hospital series, Casualty, at the end of 2001.

He played Craig Parker, who briefly went out with Dr Lara Stone, one of the regulars in the series. Craig and Lara were due to spend the weekend together in a cottage in the country, but then a colleague of hers, Dr Patrick Spiller, was attacked and injured.

She seemed far more concerned for him than for Craig, much to Craig's frustration. By the end of the episode Lara had given him up, recognising her growing feelings for Patrick. In the last scene of the episode, sitting at the bedside of the injured and unconscious Patrick, she said, "Funny thing happened to me today. I split up with the best bloke I've had in a long, long time. I'm stuck here with you, what's that all about?"

This was Richard Armitage's second appearance in a medical drama in as many months, following two episodes of Doctors. But his next appearance on TV would be a much bigger role, as John Standring in Sparkhouse.
