Richard Armitage in DoctorsRichard Armitage's first named role on TV was in the BBC's drama series, Doctors.

Doctors is a long-running daily medical soap set in a busy doctors' practice in the Midlands. Richard Armitage played Dr Tom Steele, briefly employed as a locum at the practice, in two episodes in 2001.

Dr Steele was an arrogant, lazy doctor who considered his own private life far more important than his patients' needs. He was soon asked to leave.

The two episodes in which Richard Armitage appeared were in season 4:

"Cat's Out Of The Bag", episode 215, first broadcast on BBC One on 21st November 2001
"Good Companions", episode 216, first broadcast on BBC One on 22nd November 2001
